Practice FAQs

Common questions patients ask our reception team about our practice before attending their appointment. If you can’t find your question on the list, please do not hesitate to call 01522 543213 for more information.

How do I book an appointment?

Please telephone 01522 543213 or email info@castledentallincoln.co.uk and we will book an appointment that is convenient for you.  If you need to cancel or change an appointment please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.

What do I do if I have a dental emergency and need urgent help?

Please telephone the practice on 01522 543213 as soon as possible.

We will do everything we can to help you. The earlier in the day that you ring, the more likely you are to be seen that same day and at a time that suits you best. If we cannot see you ourselves, we will find someone that can help you.

How can I pay?

Payment is expected on the day of the treatment.

Payment is accepted via:

  • Debit or credit card
  • Cash
  • Online payment links (sent via email or SMS)

Please note: Over-the-phone payment is not accepted.

We are happy to provide you with a receipt for any payment made.

If you cancel late or miss an appointment without a valid reason, you may be asked to prepay for future bookings.

I'm really scared of the dentist, can you help me?

Many people feel a bit nervous at the thought of seeing the dentist, particularly a new dentist.

Sometimes this fear is so severe that it will stop people from coming to see us unless they are in severe pain. Whatever your problem is, we can help!

Our dentists are super friendly and will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. We have extensive experience and pride ourselves on ensuring our patients have a relaxed, pain-free experience.

If you haven’t been to the dentist in a long time, you may be worried about how much treatment you need. Most of the time, it is nowhere near as bad as you imagine.

The biggest thing is picking up the phone and making the appointment!
The more regularly you visit us, the less daunting the experience becomes and the better you will feel.

How often should I visit the dentist?
Each patient is unique and has distinct needs. Your dentist will advise you on the best care routine. Regular check-ups allow us to monitor your teeth and gums and quickly identify any deterioration in their health, making treatment simpler and more effective. We also screen for signs of oral cancer.
Can I park nearby?

There is on-street parking outside the practice that is free for 2 hours, which is usually sufficient for your appointment. Sometimes these areas get busy, but fortunately, there are a couple of reasonably priced car parks nearby.

Is there disabled access?

The practice is well equipped for disabled access. Our surgery is on the ground floor and can accommodate most wheelchairs.

What if I am unhappy about my experience?

If you are unhappy with any part of your experience with us, please let us know as soon as you can. We aim to be approachable and will do our best to resolve any issues quickly with a solution acceptable to you.
You can file a complaint verbally with any team member or in writing by letter or email.

Our Complaints Manager will handle your complaint in accordance with our policies and procedures and will acknowledge it within three working days. We aim to resolve complaints within ten working days and will keep you updated if it takes longer. Complaints should be made within 12 months of the incident or when you first discovered the problem.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact external bodies like the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman or the Dental Complaints Service for private patients.

You can also give feedback to the CQC via their website or by calling 03000 616161.
